Justine and I saw an odd sign near a Belgian restaurant we like just off of Montrose & Westheimer several months ago. The sign said “Knitting, please” and then listed a web address (see photo above).
The Houston Press and the Houston Chronicle have just written stories about this group of knitting graffiti artists.
I know. That phrase sounds really odd – knitting graffiti artists.
It’s a little maternal. It’s a little naughty. And it’s covering doorknobs, trees, car antenna, street signs and more in the Montrose area of Houston.
How can you not smile when you see a pair of pink mittens stuck to a fire hydrant – and know in the back of your mind the mittens were placed there in a convert nighttime operation?
I think it’s great.
