Little blue tarps…

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Current Affairs|Travel

We made it to New Orleans in one piece. I snapped this picture with my phone from our room on the 11th floor and circled the blue tarps for you. We’re staying at a swanky hotel in the french quarter called the Crowne Plaza. Marble lobby…very nice. More photos to come… – Dave

Off to the Big Easy

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Travel

Justine and I will be heading off to New Orleans tomorrow to visit her grandmother, aunt & uncle. I’m curious to see how the city has recovered from hurricanes Rita and Katrina last year. I know there are still a lot of folks who are still homeless and a lot of business are still recovering. […]

Tinkle Tetris

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Games|Humor|Weird

So there’s this company that makes interactive video games for the toilet. This is mostly geared for men because we can aim a little better, but I suppose women could play as well. Canaries in a coal mine

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Current Affairs|Philosophy

Hmm, now that I think about it, that’s a little backwards. Real canaries used in coal mines sang when the air was clean […]

Weekend festivities

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Misc

We had a busy weekend so far… Saturday: 1. I got a small fridge to put under my desk at work so I don’t have to use the 10th floor’s funky fridge anymore. 2. We got new silverware for home that looks pretty cool. 3. Justine got a crockpot and a curling iron/blow-dryer gizmo at […]

Judge tells DOJ to get stuffed

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Current Affairs|Political|Web

A recent post on Google’s Blog confirms that United States District Judge, James Ware sided with Google against the Department of Justice’s demand of private search queries cataloged by Google. You don’t often see “the man” sticking it to “the man,” but here’s a great case of exactly that. (I like Judge James Ware, and […]

Where do we go from here?

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Texas|Travel

A few weeks ago I printed out a blank map of the United States and Justine and I sat down with a black magic marker and began coloring in states that we both agreed we did not want to live in. The states that survived this coloring-book exercise would be the states that we would […]
