Giant bat-eating centipede

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Outdoors|Weird

Over a foot long and poisonous, this centipede catches and consumes a bat from the darkness of a cave. I hope you can all sleep tonight after watching this. I’m sure that wasn’t a bug that crawled across your covers. Naa. Couldn’t be. Just go back to sleep. -Dave

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Blog|Web

I’m getting ready to redesign the blog and move to a different hosting company. This should happen within the next couple weeks. Woohoo. Looking forward to the Colorado trip next week. I can’t remember what the mountains look like and I’m looking forward to finding out. -Dave

Go Giants

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Travel

I’m currently shivering in left field at the Giants – Angels game in San Francisco. As soon as the sun went down the temperature dropped about 10 degrees. It’s 2 – 0 Giants right now if anyone cares. God, it’s cold. – Dave

Lombard Street

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Travel

Leonardo , Jennifer, Lane, Oliver and I went walking after dinner tonight through very nice section of town and ran into Lombard street. It has more twists than tv could ever capture. Very cool. I dig this town. -Dave

Some SF pics

Posted by: Dave In: Photography|Travel

A few pictures I snapped with my phone. The doorway is the hotel I’m staying in. The street is actually THAT steep and the trolly jingles down the street. This is a very cool town. – Dave

Prepare for take off

Posted by: Dave In: Music|Travel

When the flight attendant announces that we need to turn off all portable electronic devices…sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. On today’s flight to San Francisco I didn’t. I like listening to really good music during take off. Good music seems even better when you’re blasting down the runway and climbing into the sky. […]

It is extremely amusing to me to see the little chrome Christian fish symbol on vehicles that are exhibiting road rage tendencies while I’m driving to work in the morning. I’ve recently moved south of the Mason-Dixon line (where Christianity was invented, by the way) and there are legions of soccer moms and golf dads […]

Fun with the 10 Commandments

Posted by: Dave In: Humor|Political

From BoingBoing: “In this video, Stephen Colbert nails Georgia Representative Lynn Westmoreland, a Congressman who’s co-sponsored a bill to require the display of the Ten Commandments in the House of Reps and the Senate. After bantering with Westmoreland for a couple minutes, Colbert says, “What are the Ten Commandments?” Stephen Colbert: What are the Ten […]

  • Dave: Not sure, Bryan, but I'd love to know where Craig lives.
  • Bryan Hanks: What city were those in?

  • epiphenita: Like Tom Waits without the music.
  • epiphenita: Reminds me of my good friend's artwork: http://victoriacarlson.blogspot.com/2009/06/untitled.html
  • Dave: I think someone should make some dance music from those "WHOAHs."
  • epiphenita: Oh, Dave. That was tonic to my soul. Perfect. I vote for an exorcism.
  • Dave: Hmm, looks sober to me.
  • Scott: I'm thinking that the guy with the hat might have had a drink or two before this picture was taken. Just a hunch...
  • Scott: There's a roleplaying scenario just waiting to be written based on these pictures. :-)

Stepping over the steaming pile of reality. This is one man's journey into the absurd.
