Writers take note…

Posted by: Dave In: Productivity |Web

Collaborate with writers from all over the country with Writey.

You write stuff and pass to me.  I write stuff and pass to you.  All versions are saved for record.

Efficient nerdiness abounds.

you must know the email addresses of the “writers from all over the country” in order for them to “add” to it. if you know their email addresses, couldn’t you just email them? am i missing something? it seems a bit redundant. more doesn’t mean better. constraints focus creativity, like a la-ser. what if the canvas kept on going in all directions?

la-ser.

Yes, using email addresses allows you to confine your circle of collaborators to just the people you want involved. This is a good thing. It keeps track of who made the last change to a document. Very handy.

Simply emailing a document around to friends doesn’t really offer any kind of version control. It also allows people to collect a bunch of documents together for research purposes if there is a great distance between them.

All good stuff.
