It’s Official: I No Longer Hate Portland
Justine here. Been awhile.
Since I completely dissed P-town last year, I feel the need to make reparation to my loyal readers who may have held a divergent opinion.
I hate Portland no longer now that I’m able to accept it for what it is, rather than seeing it as a safe haven away from the fulminating and venal consumerism of Houston. It’s just a poky Pacific Northwest glorfied college town with some really killer coffee shops and counterculture subculture culture. Still a tad DIY for my tastes but I think I tolerated it better this time b/c I now know how to knit.
That’s it. I’m a knitter and therefore cool and better able to accept the whole “Dude I so just want to sit on my 20 year old couch and do apple bong hits while I knit this tam for my dreads. Dude.”
Yeah, that must be it.
