700 hobos

Posted by: Dave In: Design|Humor|Weird

John Hodgman, who plays the PC on Apple’s Mac commercials wrote 700 hobo names for fun. Most of them are quite creative. 700 artists have since drawn all 700 hobo names. This might take a while, so you may need to get a sandwich and drink while you’re reading all of them. -Dave

Our good friends at Google quietly launched a new feature on the Google Personal pages today. I must say, they dropped the ball this time. They put tiny little plus signs on their feed readers that are so unfriendly to use they made me cringe when I clicked on them. The little plus signs above […]

As seen on Cool Tools… I just bookmarked one of the most helpful phone lists on the planet.  It’s a phone list of major US companies and how to skip all the automated menu bullshit and quickly speak to a real live human being.  The phone list is called GetHuman and is a brilliant idea. […]

The end of ABC’s Lost

Posted by: Dave In: TV

From TVWeek… “It’s time for us now to find an endpoint for the show,” said executive producer Carlton Cuse. “JK Rowling announced there were seven books in the Harry Potter series and it gives fans [a framework for understanding the arc of the show]. ‘The X-Files’ was a cautionary tale for us. It was a […]

  • Dave: I think someone should make some dance music from those "WHOAHs."
  • epiphenita: Oh, Dave. That was tonic to my soul. Perfect. I vote for an exorcism.
  • Dave: Hmm, looks sober to me.
  • Scott: I'm thinking that the guy with the hat might have had a drink or two before this picture was taken. Just a hunch...
  • Scott: There's a roleplaying scenario just waiting to be written based on these pictures. :-)

Stepping over the steaming pile of reality. This is one man's journey into the absurd.
