Google launched some new functionality today on their maps product. If you do a search in google maps and click on the “Traffic” button you will get some green, yellow, red and gray lines on the highways. The colors mean the following:
Green: more than 50 miles per hour
Yellow: 25 – 50 miles per hour
Red: less than 25 miles per hour
Gray: no data available
This feature is not available in all cities yet (mostly just the larger cities in the United States), but for those of us who have to fight city traffic every now and then, it’s pretty helpfu.
The google blog entry about it is here.
