I’m in Indy

Posted by: Dave In: Games |Vacation

My flight was delayed several hours this morning, but I managed to make it to Indianapolis by 6:30pm or so. While sitting at the gate in Houston I played a little game with myself called “spot the gaming nerd going to Gencon.”

It was an easy game.

As it turns out, the plane from Houston to Indianapolis was full of nerdiness of all sort. I ended up talking with a woman named Jill in the internet-based game industry in San Jose. She was coming to Gencon for work…how cool is that?

Check back later this week for some photos. I plan on posting some of the interesting things I see here at Gencon.

Should be a gas…

P.S. I’m staying across the street from the Wild Beaver Saloon.  Yes, I giggled too.

Gad. You’re in Indianapolis? My my. I end up there once or twice a year for the family thing, and I wouldn’t recommend it. But with a conference afoot, maybe you won’t even really see Indy, anyway.

Yeah, I doubt I’ll see much in Indianapolis other than the amenities surrounding the convention center. There are more nerds with in-joke Dungeon & Dragons t-shirts than you can shake a stick at. I love the smell of nerds in the morning. Smells like victory…or at least a draw.
