Scariest live-action Bert costume ever.

Posted by: Dave In: TV|Weird

My childhood visions of Sesame Street have just been permanently scarred.  I think, perhaps, Bert has just finished eating the day-old corpse Ernie and is in the middle of a stand-off with the cops. As a matter of fact, he just finished telling the cops that he won’t be taken alive. Creepy, eh? -Dave

A tank cozy

Posted by: Dave In: Current Affairs|Design|DIY|Weird

From http://www.marianneart.dk/ A combat tank which was used in World War II was the setting for this work of art. As a protest against the Danish (USA´s, UK´s) involvement in the war in Iraq the tank was covered from the canon to the caterpillar tracks with knitted and crocheted squares made with pink yarn The […]

You may now eat the bride

Posted by: Dave In: Food & Drink|Weird

I don’t know about you, but I find this wedding cake more than a little disturbing.   Is it just me or does it seem a bit canibalistic for your wedding party to cut you up and eat you at the end of the meal? Link (via craplinks) – Dave

Mike Patton interview

Posted by: Dave In: Film|Music

Movieweb has a great interview with avantgarde rocker, Mike Patton. Apparently he did some work for Hollywood on Will Smith’s I Am Legend. I think he’s probably the busiest guy in rock-n-roll. Link to the interview Ipecac: Patton’s label (Great name for a record label.) Mike’s Wikipedia entry I’ve been a fan of his work […]

Johnny Cash covers Soundgarden’s Rusty Cage

Posted by: Dave In: Film|Music

I love the change-up at the 1:30 minute mark. Good stuff, and a classic Soundgarden tune from my college years. —————- Now playing: Soundgarden – Loud Love via FoxyTunes

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody

Posted by: Dave In: Film|Music|Weird

I’m not sure if you are able recognize pure music genius when you see it. Because of this, I have posted the video above to show you exactly what pure musical genius looks like. Jerry Phillips is a musical genius. Link to the video.

  • Dave: Not sure, Bryan, but I'd love to know where Craig lives.
  • Bryan Hanks: What city were those in?
  • Kevin David Anderson: check out our other wreaths at: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150452725264516.391111.360128594515&type=3
  • epiphenita: Like Tom Waits without the music.
  • epiphenita: Reminds me of my good friend's artwork: http://victoriacarlson.blogspot.com/2009/06/untitled.html
  • Dave: I think someone should make some dance music from those "WHOAHs."
  • epiphenita: Oh, Dave. That was tonic to my soul. Perfect. I vote for an exorcism.
  • Dave: Hmm, looks sober to me.
  • Scott: I'm thinking that the guy with the hat might have had a drink or two before this picture was taken. Just a hunch...
  • Scott: There's a roleplaying scenario just waiting to be written based on these pictures. :-)

Stepping over the steaming pile of reality. This is one man's journey into the absurd.
