I suspect that wasn’t an accident. Someone probably chose to run that episode as a tribute to McGoohan.
When I first saw The Prisoner, I thought Rover (the killer beach ball) was pretty scary. But when I found myself explaining Rover to someone else years afterward, I felt a little silly.
