My favorite coffee mug

Posted by: Dave In: Design|Justine

Justine got me this mug last year and it makes me smile everytime I drink out of it. The funny part…it’s so true.  I AM a handsome devil. And you, too, can be a handsome devil by simply drinking out of this mug. Happy Leap Day everyone (and happy Friday too). -Dave

Ecksmas tree

Posted by: Dave In: DIY|Justine|Misc

Justine finished putting up the tree this evening.  She tells me it is not finished, but there are lights and bulbs on it, so it looks pretty finished to me. I look forward to all of the amazing holiday decorations this year. -Dave

My Race Is Run

Posted by: Justine In: Justine

Well I did it. I completed the Avon Walk for the Cure. Or, I should say, I completed 20 miles of it. The first day was unusually hot and humid for Chicago, and I managed to not put my orthotics in my old walking shoes. My reasoning? “I’ll just wear these old trainers today and […]

Pudding and mittens

Posted by: Dave In: Humor|Justine

Justine an I had a funny conversation the other day about the dog. You see, it seems as if Queenie has bowel issues when Justine is away and I am the lucky person dealing with them. Let me preface the dialog by explaning that we must clean up after the dog in apartment complex we […]

Dr Ding is sailing the high seas

Posted by: Dave In: Justine|Travel

My favorite psychologist and soon-to-be-swimmer-with-dolphins is (right at this very moment) sailing the high seas in the Gulf of Mexico with her pal Gail. Queenie and I are holding down the fort here in Houston and hoping she has a wonderful time.  Well, I’m hoping she has a wonderful time.  Queenie is mostly licking her […]

East Jesus, Texas

Hey y’all. I’m here in East Jesus, TX working. The company I’m working for ran short-staffed, so here I is, ministering to the copious mental health needs of old peeps. I’ve learned the following things over the last several months of working extensively with oldsters: 1. maintain good relationships w/other humans so you have decent […]

Glenwood Cemetery

Posted by: Dave In: History|Justine|Photography|Texas

Justine and I went for a long walk today at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston, TX. We live pretty near the cemetery and talked about it last night at dinner with Ted & Leslie. It’s quite an impressive place. We both walked for over an hour through the cemetery and still did not see everything. Oddly […]

Justine and I had a lovely evening Saturday.  Here are the highlights: 1. 2 Dozen roses 2.  A littel dog vomit (don’t ask). 3. Dinner at Vic & Anthony’s 4. Some gifts from me in a little blue box 5. A little dancing on the rooftop of our building Other than the dog vomit, we […]

  • Dave: Not sure, Bryan, but I'd love to know where Craig lives.
  • Bryan Hanks: What city were those in?
  • Kevin David Anderson: check out our other wreaths at: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150452725264516.391111.360128594515&type=3
  • epiphenita: Like Tom Waits without the music.
  • epiphenita: Reminds me of my good friend's artwork: http://victoriacarlson.blogspot.com/2009/06/untitled.html
  • Dave: I think someone should make some dance music from those "WHOAHs."
  • epiphenita: Oh, Dave. That was tonic to my soul. Perfect. I vote for an exorcism.
  • Dave: Hmm, looks sober to me.
  • Scott: I'm thinking that the guy with the hat might have had a drink or two before this picture was taken. Just a hunch...
  • Scott: There's a roleplaying scenario just waiting to be written based on these pictures. :-)

Stepping over the steaming pile of reality. This is one man's journey into the absurd.
