I’ve always wanted a motorcycle.

So, about two weeks after my knee surgery I visited the Harley Davidson dealership and picked out a red 2010 Road King.  I’ve been riding it for the past 3 weeks and love it. It’s pretty heavy (nearly 800lbs with a full tank of gas) but it handles extremely well on the twisty turns in the mountains.

This photo was taken about 20 miles west of Boulder, CO on a ride I did with Jake.

So far, it’s been loads of fun.

That’s right, we’ve officially moved to Denver, Colorado – the land of microbrews and mountains.  Against all advice to “hunker down and stay put in this economy” we thought following our bliss couldn’t possibly be a bad thing.

So stay tuned for a couple additional posts on outdoorsy stuff mixed in with all the monkeys and fart jokes.

P.S. – OMG, SWINE FLU…RUN!

I am shocked and don’t have much to say other than I REALLY hope they win the series.  I’m not a huge sports fan (I had to add “sports” as a tag just for this post), but I consider them my hometown team and would be delighted if they swept the series just like they swept the playoffs.

To all my friends in Colorado…wear some purple for me.

(This sort of makes up for the Nuggets, eh?)

I took this picture in October of 2003 of some dripping water on the underside of St Mary’s Glacier just outside Denver, Colorado. I had it saved as my computer desktop at work for nearly a year. I think was hoping the cool pixels of snow and ice would cool me off in the hot muggy summers of Houston.

(This, of course, did not work.)
