UPDATE - Saturday, Sept 12th - We’re all fine here, just without power and water. It’s like camping, except not nearly as much fun.
We are staying in Houston to ride out Hurricane Ike. We have plenty of food, water, batteries, etc to keep us going. I’ll try to take some photos or video of the [...]
Tropical storm Edouard is supposed to hit us in Houston tonight around midnight.
Our storm supplies consist of olives, vermouth and vodka. It worked for Rita, why not Edouard?
I’ll try to post some photos or video of the tropical storm experience here later tonight.

UPDATE: Monday, July 04 - 7:55PM (CST) - Edouard is now slated [...]
I got a great piece of news today via the magical interwebs. Cactus Music is back in business and will be celebrating their grand re-opening tonight with some live music. I wrote about Cactus Music closing their doors over 2 years ago and was a little disappointed by the announcement.
Houston Calling, a great [...]

The punchline is - the projected turn-out at the polls is around 10%.
I’d say the news organizations can cut back [...]

Justine and I had a great time this weekend with our good friends, Josh and Tara. We went down to Galveston and did some strolling around. This is some of what we saw.

I’m talking about the moist air and the cool evening breezes that make me appreciate Houston every now and then. The [...]
So it’s been raining for the past two days straight here in Houston. There are numerous sections of highway around the city that have been closed because of flooding. It’s also pretty depressing to drive to work in the dark and come home in the dark for a few days in a row.
The sky looks [...]
Justine and I went for a long walk today at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston, TX. We live pretty near the cemetery and talked about it last night at dinner with Ted & Leslie. It’s quite an impressive place. We both walked for over an hour through the cemetery and still did not [...]
It’s chilly in Houston today. Actually chilly.
No, really…look at the weather on the right side of the site.
Feels great.
