Launchy is pretty nifty

Posted by: Dave In: Productivity|Technology|Web

I started using Launchy a few weeks ago and I’m still getting used to it. Launchy is an application launcher that runs in the background while you you do other things. When you need to open a program (like FireFox in my screenshot above) you simply tap the ALT-SPACEBAR at the same time. That engages […]

Here’s an interesting post from my pal Scott about his Buddhist leanings. I wouldn’t consider myself a full-fledged Buddhist at this point, but I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that it could happen. My wife has said that’s fine with her as long as I don’t give up my job, sell our possessions, and start […]

I had a great brainstorming session with a friend from work today at a coffee shop in Houston and two solid ideas came out of it. We’re trying to come up with a couple new ideas for websites that could become profitable in the long run (or at least sold off to the highest bidder […]

Portable Apps

Posted by: Dave In: Gadgets|Productivity|Travel|Web

I’ve been using Portable Apps on my thumb drive for 6-8 months now and I thought I’d let everyone know just how cool it is. If you’re not familiar with USB flash drives (nicknamed “thumb drives” – because they are about the size of your thumb) they are small devices that you plug into the […]

Constantly revise your reality maps, and seek new metaphors about the future to understand what’s happening now. Develop external networks for increasing intelligence. In particular, spend all your time with people as smart or […]

Gmail adds bug reporting functionality

Posted by: Dave In: Productivity|Web

Gmail has recently added the “repot bug” functionality that allows users to send issues with the application directly to google customer support.  This seems like the Google’s first attempt at directly supporting the application. A step in the right direction, in my opinion. -Dave

Google Notebook

Posted by: Above The Aether In: Productivity|Web

If you haven’t checked out Google Notebook, you should check it out. It’s a pretty cool plugin for browsers (it works in Fire Fox, which I use most often and Internet Explorer as well) that allows you to copy and paste text and photos from web pages and save them for later. This would be […]

  • epiphenita: Oh, Dave. That was tonic to my soul. Perfect. I vote for an exorcism.
  • Dave: Hmm, looks sober to me.
  • Scott: I'm thinking that the guy with the hat might have had a drink or two before this picture was taken. Just a hunch...
  • Scott: There's a roleplaying scenario just waiting to be written based on these pictures. :-)

Stepping over the steaming pile of reality. This is one man's journey into the absurd.
