We’ve headed south for the weekend to Taos, NM. Having fun walking around the old pueblo. Google maps said it would take us 5 and a half hours to get here.

Hey kiddos, Justine and I are still in Des Moines. We’re enjoying the quiet streets and the chilly temperatures of Iowa’s bustling metropolis.

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving and have recovered from the tryptophan coma. Did you know cheddar cheese has more tryptophan than turkey?

I’m in Indy

My flight was delayed several hours this morning, but I managed to make it to Indianapolis by 6:30pm or so. While sitting at the gate in Houston I played a little game with myself called “spot the gaming nerd going to Gencon.”

It was an easy game.

As it turns out, the plane from Houston to Indianapolis was full of nerdiness of all sort. I ended up talking with a woman named Jill in the internet-based game industry in San Jose. She was coming to Gencon for work…how cool is that?

Check back later this week for some photos. I plan on posting some of the interesting things I see here at Gencon.

Should be a gas…

1. Day off of work.
2. BBQ with friends.
3. Beer
4. Laughing at the silly British red-coats in 1776 who thought they could defeat a bunch of scruffy coonskin-cap-wearing hillbillies.

Little did they know, our hillbillies are particularly stubborn.

Justine and I had a great time this weekend with our good friends, Josh and Tara. We went down to Galveston and did some strolling around. This is some of what we saw.

After a white-knuckled flight out of Charlotte, NC yesterday in a 30 passenger prop plane in a driving rain storm we landed in Huntington, WV. I only felt like vomiting three times during this hour long flight, but I consider my self lucky that I didn’t.

The hillbillies on board looked pretty green around the gills too.

It’s delightfully sunny today and even a bit chilly. This reminds me of what fall is supposed to feel like. In Houston we have two seasons: summer and not summer.

I hope you all enjoy the cranberry sauce today.
